FOOTBALL

• Notre Dame freshman outside linebacker Manti Te'o (Punahou '09 of Lä'ie) had four tackles in a 27-22 loss to Pittsburgh Saturday.

• Oregon junior quarterback Jeremiah Masoli (Saint Louis '06) passed for touchdowns of 9 and 21 yards in a 44-21 win over Arizona State Saturday. Masoli was 10-of-20 passing for 120 yards with one interception. He also rushed for 67 yards on seven carries.

• California senior defensive lineman Tyson Alualu (Saint Louis '05 of Honolulu) made seven tackles, including two for losses, with one sack in Saturday's 24-16 win over Arizona. Alualu also recorded one quarterback hurry and forced a fumble. Freshman defensive lineman Aaron Tipoti (Word of Life '08 of Honolulu) added three tackles.

• Oregon State freshman linebacker Kevin Unga (Kahuku '06) had a team-high seven tackles and junior safety Suaesi Tuimaunei (Kahuku '06 of Lä'ie) added five in a 48-21 win over Washington Saturday. Sophomore linebacker David Pa'aluhi (Wai'anae '07) added four tackles. Washington senior defensive end Daniel Te'o-Nesheim (Hawai'i Prep '04 of Waikoloa) had two tackles and a fumble recovery.

• Colorado junior inside linebacker Michael Sipili (Damien '06 of Honolulu) made two solo tackles and assisted on five others in Saturday's 17-10 loss at Iowa State.

• Idaho junior linebacker JoJo Dickson (Baldwin '07 of Wailuku) had four tackles and sophomore linebacker Robert Siavi'i (Leilehua '08 of Wahiawä) added three stops in Saturday's 63-25 loss at Boise State.

• UNLV junior defensive end Malo Taumua ('Aiea '05 of Honolulu) had four tackles in Saturday's 45-17 loss at Air Force.

• Pacific Lutheran junior wide receiver Kyle Whitford (Punahou '07 of Kailua) caught four passes for 46 yards, including a 20-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter of Saturday's 62-44 loss at Linfield. Freshman defensive back Hoku Kama (Leilehua '09 of Wahiawä) had four tackles for Linfield.

• Senior wide receiver Mike Hirokawa ('Iolani '06 of 'Aiea), who plays for Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, caught three passes for 65 yards, including a 39-yard TD pass, and returned four kickoffs for 124 yards in a 28-21 win over Pomona-Pitzer Saturday. Junior linebacker Adam Morris (Punahou '07 of Honolulu) had seven tackles and senior defensive back Landon Patoc ('Iolani '06 of Honolulu) added three stops for CMS.

• Arizona Western beat Snow College, 30-17, Saturday in its regular-season finale to win the Western States Football League championship. Members of the Matadors from Hawai'i are: OL Tyler Brown (Damien '09 of Käne'ohe), DL Victor Fa'avae (Kapolei '09), LB Isaiah Iuta (Farrington '09 of Kalihi), DT Fautua Lefiti (Castle '09 of Käne'ohe), DE Chad Lopati (Kapolei '09), OL Benson Ma'afala (Mililani '09) and OL Luke Spencer (Kapolei '09). Arizona Western (9-1) will play East Mississippi (10-1) in the Mississippi Bowl in Biloxi on Dec. 6.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

• Washington senior libero Tamari Miyashiro (Kalani '05 of Käne'ohe) had 17 digs in a five-set loss at USC Friday. She had a match-high 23 digs in Saturday's sweep of UCLA. The Huskies (21-4) remained at No. 4 in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll.

• Saint Mary's (Calif.) senior middle blocker Megan Burton ('Iolani '06 of Kapolei) put away 23 kills and hit .600 in a five-set win over San Diego Saturday. With the victory, SMC clinched its first-ever West Coast Conference championships. The Gaels (19-4) moved up one spot to No. 22 in this week's AVCA Top 25 poll.

• UC Irvine junior outside hitter Larissa Nordyke (Punahou '07 of Honolulu) had 10 digs with six kills in a sweep of Cal State Fullerton Friday. Senior outside hitter Deven Bukoski (Kamehameha '06 of Kula) recorded 12 digs with five kills for the Titans. Nordyke had 12 kills and eight digs in a four-set win over UC Riverside Saturday.

• Cal Poly freshman setter Anuhea Keanini (Punahou '09 of Honolulu) had 52 assists and nine digs, and freshman outside hitter Chelsea Hardin ('Iolani '09 of Honolulu) added 10 kills and 10 digs in a five-set win over Pacific (Calif.) Friday. Senior defensive specialist Dancyne Kama (Kamehameha-Hawai'i '06 of Hilo) had a team-high 16 digs, freshman setter Pihana Kea (Punahou '09 of Honolulu) had 31 assists and 10 digs, and sophomore outside hitter Rebekah Torres (Kamehameha '08 of Wahiawä) added eight kills and four digs for Pacific.

• Long Beach State sophomore defensive specialist Lauren Minkel ('Iolani '08 of Honolulu) had a match-high 18 digs in a four-set win over UC Riverside Thursday and 14 digs in Friday's five-set loss at Cal State Northridge.

• Boston College sophomore libero Brennan Clark (University High '08 of Mililani) had a match-high 20 digs in a three-set win over North Carolina State Friday. Clark recorded a team-high 15 digs in a three-set loss to North Carlina Saturday.

• Hofstra freshman defensive specialist Kylee Maneja (Sacred Hearts '09 of Kapolei) had 18 digs in a four-set win over Towson Friday and 33 in a five-set loss to Delaware Saturday. Freshman libero Maile Scarpino ('Iolani '09 of Kailua) added 13 digs for the Pride. On Monday, Maneja was named Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week. It was her second such award of the season.

• Fairfield (Conn.) sophomore outside hitter Haililani Pokipala (Sacred Hearts '08 of Honolulu) had nine kills and eight digs in a four-set win over Marist Saturday. She recorded 15 digs with seven digs in Sunday's four-set win over Iona.

• Siena (N.Y.) senior setter Kau'i Robello (Punahou '06 of Honolulu) had 42 assists and 12 digs, and freshman defensive specialist Lesli Akeo (Kamehameha '09 of Kapolei) added 19 digs in a four-set win over Saint Peter's.

• Colgate junior outside hitter Logan Keala (Kamehameha '07 of Käne'ohe) had 10 digs and seven kills in a four-set loss to American Friday.

• Southern Utah junior outside hitter Jazmine Ma'afala (McKinley '07 of 'Ewa Beach) had 16 digs with 12 kills, and freshman libero Courtney Lelepali (Punahou '09 of Wai'anae) contributed 14 digs and four aces in a five-set win over Oakland Friday.

• Pittsburgh junior defensive specialist Melanie Feldman (Punahou '07 of Honolulu) had nine digs in a four-set win over Seton Hall Friday.

• Nevada junior outside hitter Kylie Harrington (St. Francis '07 of Honolulu) registered a match-high 18 kills with seven digs, and freshman defensive specialist Kelly Chang (Hawai'i Baptist '09 of Honolulu) added eight digs in a sweep of Louisiana Tech Saturday. On Monday, Harrington was named WAC Player of the Week.

• SJSU freshman setter Caitlin Andrade (Kamehameha '09 of Kailua) had 38 assists, 11 digs and five kills in a four-set win at Boise State Saturday. Freshman outside hitter Alex Akana (Kamehameha '09 of Kailua) put away nine kills and was in on six blocks and senior defensive specialist Kristal Tsukano (Kamehameha '06 of Honolulu) added eight digs for the Spartans.

• Adelphi (N.Y.) junior setter Heather Mau (Maryknoll '07 of Honolulu) had 53 assists with 10 digs in a five-set win over Bentley Saturday. Mau was named to the Second Team All-Northeast-10 Conference Sunday. The Panthers (27-9) are the fourth seed in the East Region of the NCAA Division Tournament, which begins tomorrow.

• Bryant (R.I.) freshman outside hitter Macy Mitravich (Sacred Hearts '09 of Waimänalo) put away 11 kills with eight digs in a sweep of St. Francis Saturday.

• Regis (Colo.) sophomore libero Cassidee Young (Kamehameha '08 of Pearl City) had a match-high 19 digs in a three-set loss to Metro State Thursday in the first round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

• Linfield (Ore.) sophomore libero Samantha Lau (St. Francis '08 of Kailua) earned First Team All-Northwest Conference honors last week after leading the league with 5.47 digs per set. Lau was also a Third Team Academic All-American District IIX selection. Puget Sound senior libero Leigh Sumida ('Iolani '06 of Käne'ohe), Pacific (Ore.) sophomore middle blocker Kelsy Takashima (Moloka'i '08 of Kaunakakai) and Lewis & Clark (Ore.) freshman setter Leia Matsunaga (Kamehameha '09 of Käne'ohe) received Honorable Mention. Sumida had 22 digs while junior defensive specialist Kris Sumida ('Iolani '07 of Käne'ohe) 14 digs in a five-set loss to Cal Lutheran Thursday in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.

• Redlands (Calif.) senior setter Kelina Smith (Waiäkea '06 of Kurtistown) had 34 assists, 10 digs, three blocks and three digs in an NCAA Division III Tournament first-round win over Chapman in straight sets Thursday. Smith recorded 45 assists and 15 digs in a second-round, five-set loss to La Verne Friday. Smith was named to the All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Second Team last week.

• Kelly Pang ('Iolani '09 of Honolulu) of Washington (Mo.) was named AVCA Division III Central Region Freshman of the Year. Pang had 23 kills and Marya Kaminski ('Iolani '07 of Kailua) had 10 kills in Saturday's 3-0 win over Carthage (Wis.) for the Central Region Championship. Pang had 60 digs in the regional tournament, broke the school's single-season digs record in Friday's win over St. Mary's (Minn.) and was named to the all-tournament team. The Bears play in tomorrow's national quarterfinals against Colorado College. The championship is Saturday.

• Libero Chrissie Sugimoto (Hanalani '06 of Mililani) earned all-tournament honors after helping Clearwater Christian (Fla.) (45-4) win its fourth straight National Christian College Athletic Association Division II title on Saturday with a 3-2 win over Lincoln Christian (Ill). Sugimoto averaged four digs per game in the tournament and also received All-America second-team honors. Sister Alyse Sugimoto (Hanalani '09 of Mililani) averaged two digs in the tournament.

• Shoreline (Wash.) freshmen Lahela Kaili-Laroya (Moanalua '09) and Matelita Melino (McKinley '09) were honored by the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges last week. Kaili-Laroya was named to the Northern Region First Team, while Melino was a Second Team selection.

MEN'S SOCCER

• Swarthmore (Pa.) junior forward Morgan Langley ('Iolani '07 of Honolulu) scored in the 85th minute of Sunday's 2-1 overtime win over Hobart in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. Swarthmore plays Transylvania Friday in a third-round game.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

• Pacific (Calif.) junior defender Kylee Ah Choy (Kamehameha '07 of Mililani) was named to the All-Big West Conference First Team last week. Ah Choy helped the Tigers' defense allow just 0.89 goals per game and she scored three goals with three assists.

• Concordia-Chicago junior forward Lauren Souza (Kaläheo '07 of Kailua) received Honorable Mention All-Northern Athletic Conference. Souza scored eight goals and assisted on five others while starting 15 of 16 matches.

CROSS COUNTRY

• Haley Abing (La Pietra '09 of Honolulu) of Kenyon (Ohio) finished 115th in the women's 6K at Saturday's NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships in 25:19.99.

• Bryce Jenkins (Leilehua '09 of Wahiawä) of Idaho State finished 94th in the men's 10K at Saturday's NCAA Mountain Regional Championships in 33:22.0.

• Jordan Lerma (Kamehameha-Hawai'i '09 of Kea'au) of St. Mary's (Calif.) finished 182nd at Saturday's NCAA West Regional Championships with a time of 37:22.54 in the men's 10K.

• Amanda Tamanaha (St. Andrew's '09 of Honolulu) of Willamette (Ore.) finished 44th in the women's 6K at Saturday's NCAA Division III West Regional Championships in 24:15.54.

SWIMMING & DIVING

• USC freshman Christel Simms (Punahou '09 of Honolulu) won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 23.75 seconds in a meet against Arizona State Saturday. Simms was second (51.30) in the 100 freestyle and was on the runner-up (1:43.38) 200 medley relay team. The Trojans won, 168-130.

• UCLA junior Brittany Beauchan (Punahou '07 of Honolulu) won three events in a meet against Arizona State Friday. Beauchan was first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.22), 200 breaststroke (2:14.04) and was on the winning 200 medley relay team (1:43.51). The Bruins won, 160-140.

• Fairfield (Conn.) sophomore Michelle Yoshida (Punahou '08 of Käne'ohe) won the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.98), 50 freestyle (24.92) and 100 freestyle (54.55) in a meet against Manhattan Saturday. The Stags won, 104-18.

• Boise State's Jennifer Cahill (Baldwin '09 of Wailuku) won the 500-yard free and 1,000 free at Friday's dual meet win over Northern Arizona. Teammate Rachael Meisner (Kamehameha '07 of Kealakekua) was third in both events and Northern Arizona's Krista Maier (Kealakehe '08 of Kailua, Kona) was sixth in the 1,000 and seventh in the 500. Northern Arizona's Meredith Egloria (Kapolei '06) was on the winning 200 medley relay team, second-place 400 free relay team and was fourth in the 50 free and 100 free. Boise State's Shanelle Choi (Pearl City '09 of Waipahu) was second in the 200 free and third in the 100 fly and 400 free relay with Cahill. Cahill was last week's WAC Swimmer of the Week.

• Lindenwood (Mo.) sophomore Sarah Billiamosa (Pearl City '08) won the 400-yard individual medley (4:49.40), took second (2:20.52) in the 200 butterfly and was on the winning (4:19.71) 400 medley relay team in a meet against Illinois Tech. Jessica Lau ('Iolani '08 of Honolulu) placed second (6:03.47) in the 500 freestyle and was third (2:33.26) in the 200 butterfly.

• Vassar (N.Y.) sophomore Jack Smart (Punahou '07 of Honolulu) won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.60) and the 200 breaststroke (2:17.61) in a meet against Rensselaer Saturday. Smart took second (2:04.04) in the 200 individual medley and was on the runner-up (3:48.88) 400 medley relay team.

HONORS

• C.W. Post (N.Y.) women's volleyball coach Shellane Ogoshi (Roosevelt '04 of Honolulu) was named co-Coach of the Year by the East Coast Conference Friday after leading the Pioneers to a 14-13 regular season record. Ogoshi, the career leading in digs and assists at Hofstra, just completed her first season at C.W. Post.

• Pacific Lutheran (Wash.) women's volleyball coach Kevin Aoki ('Iolani '80) was named Northwest Conference Coach of the Year for the fourth consecutive season. PLU (20-6) opens the NCAA Division III Tournament tomorrow against La Verne (Calif.).
