Part of Big Island under wind advisory
The National Weather Service in Honolulu said a wind advisory is in effect for parts of the Big Island until 8 p.m. tonight.
Strong trades with sustained wind speeds of 30 mph or higher with gusts up to 45 mph are expected today near South Point and along ridges and leeward slopes of Kohala and the northern Big Island, including the communities of Waikoloa and Kamuela.
The weather service warns that strong winds can make driving difficult, especially for higher vehicles.
