HONOLULU — The body of an unidentified scuba diver has been recovered from waters near the southern tip of the Big Island.

Hawaii County fire officials say the man was reported missing Monday evening. He was about 50 years old.
A helicopter doing an aerial search spotted the victim’s dive flag about 20 feet offshore in about 30 feet of water.
The report from the fire department says rescue personnel recovered the lifeless diver.
