Coast Guard suspends search

The U.S. Coast Guard last night suspended its search for a missing fisherman who may have gone overboard at sea south of Kona early Friday morning.
Big Island authorities, the military and dozens of volunteers searched 6,000 square miles of ocean with no sign of Devin Johnson, the 23-year-old Kona commercial fisherman who had been out in rough seas south of the Big Island with his twin brother.
Johnson is believed to have gone overboard about 60 miles south of Kona while his brother, Gus Johnson, was sleeping below deck.
The Coast Guard notified Johnson's family last night that unless there's new information identifying where he might be located, they could not continue searching for him.
