Coast Guard tows in boat after engine stalls offshore
The Coast Guard cutter Galveston yesterday towed to shore a fishing boat whose engine quit working about eight miles off Käne'ohe, the Coast Guard reported.
The 40-foot boat reported late Wednesday night that its engine would not work, despite having plenty of fuel. The Galveston reached the boat at 11:27 p.m. Wednesday but waiting to tow until yesterday morning when sea conditions were more favorable.
The Galveston returned the boat and its five passengers to Käne'ohe at 1:30 p.m. yesterday.
