Judges will continue working, Moon says

Advertiser Staff

Although state courthouses will be closed tomorrow and other "furlough Fridays," judges are still being required to show up for work.

Supreme Court Chief Justice Ronald Moon said last week that all judges will be required to report for duty on furlough days.

The courts will be closed and air conditioning will be off, but there will be electricity and some windows can be opened.

Moon said judges will attend to business duties, including legal research, writing rulings and other matters. He said it's possible that judges in civil matters may be able to attend conferences at attorneys' offices outside the courthouse.
