Oahu woman indicted for tax violations
An Oahu woman who was found guilty to tax evasion and other tax reporting infractions has been ordered to pay $56,201 she owes the state and sentenced to 46 days in jail. She was placed on probation for five years.
The state Department of Taxation said the conviction of Josephine Q. Lopez stems from her failing to pay taxes on more than $750,000 of income earned in 2004 and 2005. It said Lopez failed to report income she received and altered accounting records to evade paying taxes.
