NEW YORK — The Philadelphia 76ers seemed ready to deliver a quick knockout in the undercard bout of a weekend chock full of Philadelphia-New York fights.
Instead, it turned into a Halloween thriller.
Andre Iguodala scored 32 points, including the go-ahead three-point play in overtime, and the 76ers blew a 23-point lead before beating the Knicks, 141-127, last night.
Lou Williams added 27 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for the 76ers, who scored the final 17 points of the game, sending the Knicks to an overtime loss for the second time in two nights.
"They're a team that can shoot themselves out of a game and they can shoot themselves into a game," said Iguodala, who added 11 rebounds and seven assists. "They did both things tonight and it turned out to be an exciting finish."
Al Harrington responded to a demotion with a career-high 42 points — most ever by a Knicks reserve — but fouled out early in overtime. Danilo Gallinari added a career-best 30 points.
Thaddeus Young scored 25 for the Sixers, who made 16 of 22 shots in the first quarter, rang up 70 points in the first half, and shot 61 percent in their second victory in two nights.
Somehow it ended up being a difficult one. New York scored 41 points in the fourth and 71 in the second half but dropped to 0-3, its worst start since losing its first five under Larry Brown in 2005-06.
"Last year we would struggle away through third quarter but this year we struggle with our first quarter," Harrington said. "We got to find a way to fight through this."
Trailing 96-81 entering the fourth quarter, the Knicks slowly closed the deficit and Chris Duhon drove for a tying layup with 5.9 seconds remaining tying it at 122-122. Iguodala missed a jumper as regulation ended, forcing overtime.
WIZARDS 123, NETS 104
Gilbert Arenas scored 32 points, including a halfcourt buzzer-beater at the end of the first quarter, and Andray Blatche added a career-high 30, leading host Washington over New Jersey.
Washington played with injured two-time All-Stars Caron Butler (bruised left knee) and Antawn Jamison (injured right shoulder) on the bench.
CAVALIERS 90, BOBCATS 79
Delonte West scored 13 points in his delayed season debut, Mo Williams added 24 and LeBron James 14 as host Cleveland rolled past Charlotte.
West missed all eight preseason games and Cleveland's first three of the regular season to deal with personal issues.
BUCKS 96, PISTONS 85
Rookie Brandon Jennings scored 21 of his 24 points in the second half and Hakim Warrick came off the bench to add 21 points as Milwaukee won its home opener.
Ben Gordon scored 26 to lead Detroit, which played its second game without Richard Hamilton (sprained right ankle).
SPURS 113, KINGS 94
Tony Parker scored 24 points and Richard Jefferson added 21 points, leading hoste San Antonio over winless Sacramento (0-3).
The Spurs got a strong performance from Manu Ginobili, who scored 13 points and had three assists in a reserve role. After scoring 28 points against Chicago on Thursday, Tim Duncan had just seven points yesterday. He grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked one shot.
ROCKETS 111, TRAIL BLAZERS 107
Trevor Ariza scored a career-high 33 points, Aaron Brooks added 28 points and host Houston held on to beat Portland at home for the fifth straight time in the regular season.
Houston had to overcome a 42-point performance by Brandon Roy and a determined Trail Blazers offense that kept the game close to the end. LaMarcus Aldridge added 27 points for the Trail Blazers.
MAVERICKS 93, CLIPPERS 84
Dirk Nowitzki had 24 points and nine rebounds, and Jason Terry scored 16 points off the bench, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with 5:07 left, leading visiting Dallas over winless Los Angeles.
The Clippers made only one field goal over the final 7:12, a seven-foot hook shot by Chris Kaman, who led Los Angeles with a career-high 27 points on 12-for-19 shooting. He and had 11 rebounds.
