Aloha Air Cargo to fly Love's Bakery products to Neighbor Islands

Love’s Bakery has signed a deal with Aloha Air Cargo to fly Love’s bakery products to the Neighbor Islands on an Aloha Boeing 737-200F aircraft emblazoned with the familiar Love’s red and white gingham emblem.
The plane will fly daily from Honolulu to Kauai, Maui and the Big Island. For Maui deliveries the flights will help fill a void created when the Hawaii Superferry shut down in March.
“Together, Love’s Bakery and Aloha Air Cargo can deliver our products ‘fresher’ and faster than any other mode of transport across Hawaii,” said Mike Walters, president and CEO of Love’s Bakery.
Love’s Bakery became Hawaii-owned last year, when its local management purchased the nearly 158-year-old Love’s Bakery from its former parent company. The purchase of the bakery’s statewide operations preserved the jobs of 349 employees on five islands and the availability of Hawaii-made, freshly baked bread.
