Rainbow Wahine soccer team announces schedule

The University of Hawai‘i soccer team will open the fall season against two teams that played in last year’s NCAA Tournament.
The Rainbow Wahine, which announced their schedule today, will host will BYU and Stanford in the OHANA Hotels and Resorts No Ka Oi on Aug. 21 and Aug. 23 at Waipi‘o Peninsula Soccer Stadium. Stanford lost in the NCAA semifinals last year.
The Rainbow Wahine, which finished 8-7-4 last year, host Hawai‘i Pacific on Aug. 30 before hosting Alabama-Birmingham and Pacific in the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Soccer Classic on Sept. 4 to 6.
Hawai‘i then plays at Pepperdine, Cal State-Fullerton, Cal State-Northridge and Cal State-Bakersfield before coming home to host Detroit-Mercy twice in the OHANA Hotels and Resorts Shootout.
Hawai‘i hosts San Jose State on Oct. 2 to open the Western Athletic Conferece season. Hawai‘i also hosts Fresno State, Nevada and Utah State in WAC games and play at first-year WAC member New Mexico State, Louisiana Tech, Boise State.
Boise State will host the WAC Tournament, which begins Nov. 5.
Hawai‘i also hosts Pearl City United in an exhibition game on Aug. 18 and the Alumnae Game will be played Oct. 10.
