MLB: Giants Sandoval leaves with sore elbow
Associated Press
SEATTLE — San Francisco’s Pablo Sandoval left Saturday night’s game against Seattle in the eighth inning with a strained right elbow and the infielder/catcher won’t play in Sunday’s interleague finale.
Sandoval hurt the elbow making a throw from his knees in Friday’s 12 inning loss to the Mariners. He was the designated hitter on Saturday, but the elbow continued to bother him at the plate.
Manager Bruce Bochy was originally planning for Sandoval to catch on Sunday, but he will instead be on the bench and be re-examined Monday in San Francisco.
Sandoval is hitting .304 with three homers, 13 doubles and 17 RBIs for the Giants.
