Preps: Ohio's winningest hoops coach, tired of parents' complaints, resigns
Associated Press
ZANESVILLE, Ohio — Ohio's winningest high school basketball coach is stepping down.
Jack Van Reeth has a combined 844 boys and girls victories in Ohio.
He's spent the last eight seasons at West Muskingum in the eastern part of the state. During his 49 seasons, he won a boys state title at Dresden and three girls state championships at West Holmes.
Van Reeth says he's stepping down because he's tired of complaints from parents who disagreed with how he coached and who he put in the games.
The 74-year-old says he'd still like to continue to coach somewhere.
