BALTIMORE — Todd Heap is sidelined for his second straight minicamp, but the Baltimore Ravens tight end expects to participate in a full practice before offseason workouts end in mid-June.
Heap is dealing with a lower back injury that dates back to the playoffs four months ago. He injured it during a practice in January.
“He’s not as far along as we all thought he would be — and he thought he would be — so we’re just trying to work through it,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday, the second day of passing camp.
Heap was third on the team last season with 35 catches, his fewest receptions in a 16-game season.
“I’m making sure that I am completely healthy before I get back out there,” Heap said.
