Take a look at the Earth from space. You'll be able to see continents, clouds and oceans. But take note of what you don't see. You don't see countries. You don't see states, counties or even your front yard.

In the vast majority of space, we are infinitely small. So how can we possibly make a difference?

None of us is perfect. Most of us are not the richest, nor the best looking, nor the most talented. How can we possibly make a change?

The answer is quite simple. We must change our outlook on life. We can no longer think about just ourselves. We need to think about others as well; we must shift our viewpoint from "me" to "we."

Laulima means "many hands working together." When one person tries to make a difference, it's hard to see a change. But when someone else comes along and helps, then another, change is quick to come.

Don't be limited by political or religious views or a small dispute. In the long run, these things do not matter.

This is what I pledge. I want to make a change, but I can't do it alone. Lend me your hand - we'll work together.
