Johan Santana (4-1) struck out 10 in seven innings of two-hit ball and host New York scored on a throwing error in the seventh. Philadelphia's Shane Victorino, a Maui native, went 1 for 4 to extend his hitting streak to 15 games.

DODGERS 10, NATIONALS 3:

A seven-run sixth helped Los Angeles break the modern major league record for home winning streak to start a season with its 13th straight victory after a rout of Washington.

BRAVES 8, MARLINS 6:

Garret Anderson's first three RBIs this season helped Derek Lowe (4-1) win his third straight start as visiting Atlanta beat Florida to end a four-game losing streak.

CARDINALS 4, PIRATES 2:

Albert Pujols homered for the fourth time in five games and Chris Duncan hit a two-run double in a three-run fourth to help host St. Louis snap a three-game slide.

CUBS 6, ASTROS 3:

Rich Harden (3-1) pitched into the eighth inning, Reed Johnson hit a bases-loaded triple and Aramis Ramirez added a solo homer to lead visiting Chicago over Houston.

ROCKIES 11, GIANTS 1:

Ubaldo Jimenez (2-4) allowed a run on five hits over seven innings and Todd Helton, Matt Murton and Yorvit Torrealba homered as host Colorado pounded Randy Johnson (2-3) and San Francisco.

BREWERS 15, REDS 3:

J.J. Hardy hit a three-run homer in the first and Ryan Braun blasted his second career grand slam off Bronson Arroyo in the second as as host Milwaukee routed Cincinnati.

DIAMONDBACKS 3, PADRES 1:

Justin Upton hit two homers, including a two-run shot off Jake Peavy (2-4), and John Garland (3-1) and two relievers combined on a five-hitter for visiting Arizona.

INDIANS 9, RED SOX 2:

Carl Pavano (2-3) allowed two runs and six hits in six innings and Victor Martinez homered and drove in four runs as Cleveland ended Boston's nine-game home winning streak.

ROYALS 9, MARINERS 1:

Mark Teahen had four hits and drove in three runs, and Sidney Ponson (1-4) gave up a run and eight hits in 7 1/3 innings to help host Kansas City to its fifth straight victory.

RAYS 4, YANKEES 3:

Carlos Pena his major league-leading 12th home run off Phil Coke (1-2) leading off the top of the 10th inning as Tampa Bay handed New York its fourth straight loss.

ORIOLES 4, TWINS 1:

Nick Markakis and Luke Scott homered, and host Baltimore beat Minnesota in a rain-shortened game — stopped with one out in the top of the sixth — marred by four delays totaling 3 hours, 46 minutes.

RANGERS 3, ATHLETICS 2:

Elvis Andrus homered and David Murphy and Chris Davis each drove in a run as visiting Texas won its fifth straight, beating Oakland, which got a two-run double from Maui native Kurt Suzuki.

BLUE JAYS 13, ANGELS 1:

Roy Halladay (6-1) allowed one run on six hits in eight innings, and Aaron Hill, Vernon Wells and Lyle Overbay each homered to lead visiting Toronto's rout of Los Angeles.
