Lunaliho Home has named Dr. J. Kuhio Asam as its new interim executive director.

The Hawai'i Kai senior care home offers 45 beds for in-patient care and also has an adult day care center.

"Dr. Asam has a wealth of health and administrative leadership experience and we are very pleased to have him join our team," said Stanley Hong, chairman of the Lunalilo Home board of trustees.

Asam is a graduate of the University of Hawai'i John A. Burns School of Medicine, Yale University and the Kamehameha Schools. He is a trustee for the University of Hawai'i Foundation and Hanahau'oli School, and a member of the board of directors for Kahi Mohala Behavioral Health hospital.

Asam was the medical director of APS Healthcare Hawaii from 2002 to 2008. He was medical director for Kahi Mohala from 1994 to 2002.
