If you live in Hawai'i and haven't been to the Polynesian Cultural Center since elementary school, the the folks there have a 25 percent off deal that just might tempt you to return.

The center is offering the Kama'aina Annual Pass this spring to Hawai'i residents until May 31, 2009. Residents with a valid Hawai'i ID can purchase the passes for $30, instead of the regular $40. This covers the summer season and pass members can extend a 20 percent discount off all packages for their out-of-town guests.

The special offer began March 16 through May 31, 2009 but the pass offers a year's worth of admission including seasonal events and festivals, such as the World Fireknife Championships, and Christmas in Polynesia. The pass also entitles holders to one free ride per day for the special Halloween event, the Haunted Lagoon, in October.

Pass holders also receive unlimited general admission to all island villages and exhibits, the Rainbow Canoe Pageant, seating at "Horizons" night show (if availabile), and free parking.

Founded in 1963 as a non-profit organization, the center has entertained more than 33 million visitors, while preserving and portraying the culture, arts, and crafts of Polynesia to the rest of the world.

And the center has provided financial assistance to 17,000 young people from more than 70 countries while they attend Brigham Young University-Hawai'i. All center revenue is used for daily operations and to support education.
