Hawai'i freshman Stephanie Ricketts was named Western Athletic Conference pitcher of the week today after throwing a no-hitter and one-hitter against Louisiana Tech during the weekend.

Ricketts, of San Jose, Calif., went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and threw the first no-hitter in the WAC this season as the Rainbow Wahine went 2-1 at Louisiana Tech.

Ricketts retired the first 12 batters before a walk on Saturday. She then retired the next nine batters to complete her no-hitter in a 3-0 victory.

In her second start of the series yesterday, Ricketts took a no-hitter through 6 2/3 innings before giving up a single in a 4-0 victory.

Fresno State's Haley Perkins was named WAC hitter of the week.
