A Miami television station and newspaper are reporting that blood tests show that Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth was driving drunk when he fatally struck a pedestrian last weekend.
WSVN-TV reported yesterday that unnamed sources with knowledge of the investigation say that Stallworth's blood-alcohol level was between .08 and .16. The legal limit is .08. The Miami Herald also reported yesterday that an unnamed source says Stallworth's blood-alcohol level was above the legal limit.
The Miami Beach Police Department is refusing to confirm the reports.
No charges have been filed against the 28-year-old Stallworth. Neither his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, nor his attorney, Robert Switke, returned calls from The Associated Press seeking comment.
Victim Mario Reyes died Saturday after being struck by Stallworth's Bentley at 7 a.m.
PATS SIGN GALLOWAY
New England has signed veteran wide receiver Joey Galloway, joining Randy Moss and giving the Patriots two of the most prolific active receivers in the NFL.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 37-year-old Galloway has a 15.7 yards-per-reception career average. That leads all active NFL players with 300 or more career receptions and is just ahead of Moss, who has a career average of 15.6.
Galloway and Moss are also among only nine active receivers with 10,000 or more career receiving yards. Galloway has caught 682 passes for 10,710 yards in his 14 seasons with Seattle, Dallas and Tampa Bay. Moss has 843 receptions for 13,201 yards.

JAPAN WILL TAKE ON U.S.
The World Baseball Classic is heading to Hollywood, and what could be more marquee than Daisuke Matsuzaka against Jake Peavy at Dodger Stadium?
That's the expected pitching matchup for the second semifinal Sunday night in Los Angeles, when defending WBC champion Japan will face Team USA.
Japan earned that matchup by rallying for three runs in the eighth inning last night to beat South Korea, 6-2, and win Pool 1. Japan and South Korea had already clinched semifinal berths.
Korea will play Pool 2 winner Venezuela in the first semifinal tomorrow night.
Although the Japanese haven't announced Boston ace Dice-K as the starter, it's his turn in the rotation. Peavy, the San Diego Padres ace, is scheduled to start for the Americans.
LONGORIA JOINS U.S.
Tampa Bay third baseman Evan Longoria replaced injured Chipper Jones on the United States roster for the World Baseball Classic.
Longoria was included on the 43-man provisional U.S. roster in January but left off the squad that opened the tournament.
Jones played in four WBC games before the Atlanta Braves slugger left the tournament with a muscle strain in his right side.
TEJADA SEEKS PROBATION
A federal prosecutor yesterday recommended that All-Star shortstop Miguel Tejada get probation and no prison time for misleading Congress about the use of performance-enhancing drugs.
U.S. attorney Jeffrey Taylor said in a memo to Federal Magistrate Judge Alan Kay that Tejada deserves that reduced sentence because he has admitted wrongdoing, accepted responsibility and has no criminal record. Tejada is to be sentenced March 26.
Tejada, the 2002 American League MVP with the Oakland Athletics and a five-time All-Star, now plays for the Houston Astros.

"Something I can try to build on," Furyk said.
