Marine Corps Base Hawaii will receive $19.36 million for a child development center as part of the economic stimulus package, U.S. Sens. Daniel K. Inouye and Daniel K. Akaka said today.
"This center will positively impact the mission of the servicemen and servicewomen assigned to Marine Corps Base Hawaii as many have families," the senators said in a joint statement.
"The knowledge that their children are cared for in a facility with educational and training rooms means less family stress and increased work productivity. For their service and willingness to serve in harm's way, this is the least we can do for them."
