Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative gets federal help

Advertiser Staff

The U.S. Department of Energy is assigning two people from its National Renewable Energy Laboratory to help the state with its Hawai'i Clean Energy Initiative, which has a goal of getting 70 percent of Hawai'i's energy needs from renewable resources by the year 2030.

Energy Laboratory senior engineers Debra Lew and Paul Norton are being based here. Lew will work with Hawai'i's utilities while Norton will work with the Energy Efficiency Branch of the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.
