The Wedding Café, a Honolulu wedding resource center, is hosting a competitive event for local brides.

On Sunday, March 29 at noon, the Café will host "Bride Wars," a free bridal competition for prizes donated by Hawaii's wedding professionals. Tanna Dang, owner of The Wedding Café, said the shop will give away gift certificates valued at $250 each, and more than 50 prizes.

There will be more than 30 challenges for couples, including a cake eating contest and a groom's garter-flinging contest.
