Hawaii to host U.S.-China renewable energy conference

Hawai'i will host the Second Bilateral Meeting of the U.S.-China Cooperation on Electricity from Renewables through Saturday at the Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism offices in Honolulu and at the University of Hawai'i, Hilo.
Participants include officials from the National Academies of the United States (comprising the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, the Institute of Medicine and the National Research Council), the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Chinese Academy of Engineering .
"Hawai'i's clean energy efforts were instrumental in attracting this Second Bilateral Meeting to our state," Gov. Linda Lingle said. "The meeting offers Hawai'i an opportunity to showcase our significant accomplishments in the area of clean energy to top national and international scientists in this field, and to highlight the cross-sector partnerships that have fueled these successes."
