Donna Wong, a champion of land and water issues, will be this year's Hawaii honoree for Women's History Month, the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women announced today.
"Anyone who has ever worked with Donna, heard her testify on complex land and water issues, or has attended one of her many public events or presentations will immediately understand why we have selected her for this special recognition," commission chair Carol Philips said in a statement. "Donna Wong has been and remains one of the most knowledgeable and staunchest defenders of Hawaii's fragile environment in modern history."
Wong will be the third recipient of this annual award joining Indru Watumull (2008) and Dr. Donnis Thompson (2007).
