The world of Kate Spade has come right to our doorstep at Ala Moana Center, on the mall level across from Sephora. It's a world of timeless, not trendy, clothing and accessories, ladylike, pretty and polished. It's easy to picture Audrey Hepburn shopping in Portofino in a white linen Kate Spade blouse, floral cotton pique skirt and hot pink Kate Spade "hula bag."
The company's creative director, Deborah Lloyd, has brought to Kate Spade a passion for retro styles and vintage-inspired fabrics. Think daisy appliques and hot pink and coral stripes, a peony-pink bag paired with a black and white polka dot shirtwaist. The accessories company is now offering head-to-toe dressing with a touch of wit and whimsy.

BULGARI ADDS COSMETICS
In a branding move that takes Bulgari outside the jewelry box, the iconic Italian company has introduced a skin care line. The significant ingredient, logically, is gem stones.
Bulgari Gem Essence, an exclusive ingredient present in every Bulgari skin care product, was created by dermatologists, cosmetologists and pharmacologists in Bulgari's Swiss cosmetic research department. Bulgari Gem Essence is a combination of sapphire, malachite, tourmaline and citrine in liquid and powdered form. The Essence is combined with proven anti-aging ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and polypeptides.
Bulgari Skin Care is available in three lines: the Precieuse Line, said to be anti-aging, the Lumiere line, said to revitalize and enhance the skin's radiance and the Radiance Cleansing Line for deep cleansing and toning. Find it at Neiman Marcus, at prices ranging from $85 to $280.
GOOD BUZZ ON ARBONNE'S ANTI-AGING FACIAL SERUM
It's hard for a daily newspaper to write about every skin care product that comes along. Unlike fashion and beauty magazines, we do not have a cadre of people to test new products. So we often rely on buzz. Or noticing that someone's skin looks way better than it did a few months ago and asking "How come?" Here's what we've been hearing about in locker rooms and offices around town: Arbonne's NutriMin C Facial Serum. The buzz is that it's a powerful over-the-counter anti-aging serum. Maybe because it contains extracts of apple, cucumber, green tea, orange and papaya.
Arbonne is sold through independent consultants or online at www.arbonne.com.
