Hilo's Gregory Meyer, the first-round leader at the JGTO's UBS Japan Golf Tour Championship last week, finished in a tie for 34th after closing with a 75 Sunday. His four-day total of 4-over 286 was 10 shots behind the winner, Yuji Igarashi, at Ibaraki, Japan.
Meyer won about $8,370. His first-round 65 was his lowest score in three years while the Top-35 finish was his best since he tied for 13th at the Casio World Open in November.
"I think the first day took all the birdies from the other days," said Meyer, 47, who represents Pearl Country Club. "This season is just starting and I am getting better every week."
