NFL: Jets’ Washington practicing, but unsure about camp

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — New York Jets running back-kick returner Leon Washington doesn’t know whether he’ll report for the start of training camp if his contract situation isn’t resolved during the next few weeks.

Washington, who made the Pro Bowl last season, sat out the first three weeks of organized team activities before returning last week amid a contract squabble. He attended the first day of mandatory minicamp Tuesday, but acknowledged that he hadn’t decided whether to report to training camp on July 30.
“I’ll wait until that time comes around and see how everything goes on with the talks between my agent and the Jets,” Washington said.
He’s due to earn $535,000 this season and is believed to be looking for about $6 million a year.
