A man convicted of helping to run an illegal gambling operation in Waialua has been sentenced to 20 months in prison.
District Judge Susan Oki Mollway sentenced 50-year-old William Gilman on June 4.
Gilman and four others — including his 78-year-old father and 55-year-old brother — were found guilty in December 2008 of various charges stemming from their involvement in an operation that included cockfighting and card games.
William Gilman was the last defendant to be sentenced.
The case drew notoriety because an FBI investigation showed that three Honolulu police officers were providing the defendants with advance notice of raids.
