Steven Donohue, son of former Honolulu Police Department Chief Lee Donohue, has died of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on the H-1 Freeway yesterday.
Donohue, 43, was traveling west on the H-1 freeway when he apparently lost control of his 2004 Suzuki motorcycle while exiting on the right-bending Wilder St. offramp and skidded into a wooden utility pole, according to police.
Donohue was taken in critical condition to the Queen's Medical Center, where he later died.
The accident took place at 5:25 p.m. Police say speed was an apparent factor. It is not known if alcohol was also a factor.
