An 18-year-old man who was struck by a pickup truck yesterday afternoon in Kane'ohe has improved to good condition, police said.

The man was hit as he darted into the roadway on Aumoku Street at about 12:10 p.m., police said. The driver of the 1997 Toyota pickup stopped and gave aid, police said.

The victim was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition, but police said he was upgraded to good condition.

The incident was under investigation, although speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors, police said.
