Mokulele Airlines boosts passenger count to new high
Mokulele Airlines said it boosted its passenger count to 40,500 in May, a 34 percent increase over its previous busiest month in March.
The interisland carrier also reported an on-time performance of 96.6 in May. Through the first five months of the year Mokulele’s on time performance has averaged 97.3 percent.
“Over the past few months, we’ve marked a number of milestones that underscore both our steady growth and our commitment to maintaining it,” said Scott Durgin, interim president and CEO of Mokulele Airlines.
In November, Kona-based Mokulele Airlines partnered with Republic AIrways to launch a new, low-fare interisland service using 70-seat Embraer 170 aircraft operated by Republic. The airline offers 82 daily departures to six cities in Hawai‘i.
