A 21-year-old Holualoa man died Sunday from injuries in a one-car crash on Route 190 at the 17-mile marker in North Kona, Big Island police said.

Police identified the victim as John H. Tuhy.

Police said Tuhy was driving a 2002 Dodge Neon four-door sedan and traveling north on Route 190 when the car crossed the center line, ran off the left side of the road and overturned about 2:30 a.m.

Tuhy was taken to Kona Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:16 a.m. Speeding was a factor in the crash, investigators said.
