NFL: Plaxico Buress traffic tickets thrown out by court

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Former New York Giants star receiver Plaxico Burress can toss four traffic tickets he received in suburban Fort Lauderdale. A magistrate has dismissed them.
Burress was ticketed March 1 on accusations of speeding and illegal lane change, improperly displaying a car tag and having tinted windows.
His attorney Bradford Cohen said the tickets were dismissed Friday because the officer who wrote them didn’t supply information on how to pay the tickets. Burress wasn’t required to attend Friday’s court session.
Burress was released by the Giants on April 3. It came just over four months after authorities reported the Super Bowl hero had accidentally shot himself in the thigh with an unlicensed gun in a New York City nightclub.
