TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE
“THE BACHELORETTE” FINALE, 7-9:02 P.M., ABC
Tonight, Jillian Harris chooses between two guys, both of whom she says she's crazy about. She even brings her family from Canada to Hawaii, to grill them.
Mostly, however, there are intimate, bikini moments. She frolics with Kiptyn (31, a developer from Encinitas, Cal.) on a beachside picnic, boat ride and swim; she splashes with Ed (29, a computer consultant) in a private lagoon.
Ed also invites her to his room, which could be key. Previously, his visit to her “fantasy suite” didn't work out; this time, both men try to give her a night to remember. Then comes her decision.
TONIGHT'S ALTERNATIVE
“THE YES MEN FIX THE WORLD,” 6-7:30 P.M., HBO
There may be few people more polarizing than Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno, who call themselves “The Yes Men.” Pretending to be corporate officals, t hey become conference speakers.
At times, this is pure satire. They convince people that a corporation wants to make candles from human flesh and to encase people in giant “Survivalball” suits.
At other, it seems like cruelty. For a few hours, these men convinced the world that companies would compensate victims of the Bhopal explosion and restore the wetlands battered by Hurricane Katrina. The stock value of Dow temporarily dropped by billions; innocent people celebrated, then sagged.
Bichlbaum and Bonanno made this film, partially trying to explain themselves. Some people will be appalled; many will be fascinated.
