A former Roosevelt High basketball standout who was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Moanalua Freeway early Sunday had a blood-alcohol content almost three times the legal limit, the city medical examiner said today.

Alexis Tatiana Beasley, 21, of Papakolea, had a blood-alcohol content of 0.227. The legal limit is .08.
Police are trying to determine whether Beasley was driving or riding in a 1993 Nissan pickup truck that went out of control and struck a concrete freeway barrier, police spokeswoman Michelle Yu said.
Police said the west-bound truck was apparently speeding when it skidded across two lanes and slammed into the barrier on the right side of the freeway near the Ola Lane overpass at about 1:45 a.m..
Beasley was found on the road and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police initially believed she was a passenger in the truck’s bed and had been ejected by the impact. Police also thought the driver had fled.
Beasley, a 5-foot-6 forward, was named to the Advertiser’s all-state first team in her senior year in 2006. She helped lead Roosevelt to a second-place finish in the Division I state tournament that year.
