Holzman, Lee join University of Hawaii Board of Regents

John C. Holzman and James H.Q. Lee joined the University of Hawaii’s Board of Regents July 1, the school said yesterday in a news release.
They replace Allan R. Landon and Ronald K. Migita, whose terms expired June 30. Landon served as the board’s chair the last two years.
Holzman is a retired Foreign Service officer who is a senior volunteer mediator at the Mediation Center of the Pacific.
Lee is a partner in the law firm Devens, Nakano, Saito, Lee, Wong & Ching.
Holzman and Lee were confirmed by the state Senate.
The Senate also confirmed the nominations of Mark H. Fukunaga, Chuck Gee and Eric Martinson to Honolulu County seats; Ramon S. de la Pena to the Kauai County seat; Michael Dahilig to the at-large seat; and Grant Teichman to the student regent seat. Since January, these six regents had been serving on an interim basis.
The eight nwly confirmed regents join the seven members who are continuing their terms: Howard H. Karr (Honolulu County), Artemio Baxa (Maui County), Carl A. Anderson Jr. (Hawaii County), Teena M. Rasmussen (At-large) and Harvey Tajiri (Hawaii County — East).
