NFL: Colts adding sponsor patch to practice jerseys
Associated Press
INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts will join several other NFL teams in adding a sponsor logo to their practice jerseys.
The team says it has finalized an agreement for players to wear an Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance patch during training camp, which opens Aug. 3 at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute.
Colts senior vice president Tom Zupancic tells The Indianapolis Star that the deal on the jersey patch was rolled into Farm Bureau's current naming rights contract for the team's practice facility, which runs another five years. Terms were not disclosed.
NFL owners voted in March to permit the sponsor patches. The league, however, does not allow corporate logos on game jerseys.
