The Storybook Theatre of Hawaii and the town of Hanapepe are gearing up for their Garden Dedication Party Aug. 8 from noon to 9 p.m.

The celebration marks the opening of new of the Spark M. Matsunaga International Children’s Garden for Peace, described as an oasis in the center of Hanapepe town.
The garden will be a unique visitor destination, performance art venue, and outdoor peace education classroom.
The event is free and will include food, entertainment, arts and crafts booths, and activities for the whole family.
