Kaua'i fire officials estimate that about 100 acres of Kalaheo pasture land were destroyed by fire yesterday afternoon.

No one was injured in the fire, which burned along Pu'u Road in the vicinity of the Kukuiolono Golf Course. The fire was deemed under control about 2:39 p.m. The cause of the fire was under investigation.

It was the first fire call for five new firefighters who were among those responding to the 11:35 alarm.

Assistance was provided by Goodfellow Brothers Inc., which brought three water tankers, and Kaua'i Coffee Co., which brought a water tanker and a loader.
