Maui Realtor, brokerage face penalties

A Maui Realtor and real estate brokerage must each pay $15,000 fines and jointly pay $50,280 in restitution as part of disciplinary actions taken by the state Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs and the State Boards and Commissions during May.

The state Real Estate Commission fined Maui Real Estate Co. Inc. and Karl F. Lingenfelder those amounts and revoked their licenses in action it took during the month.

In separate cases, the commission also fined Wilton I. Lombard $2,500 and ordered him to fully satisfy a $2,820 judgement, while revoking the license of Douglas T. Nonaka and Neal S. Suda.

In other findings:

  • The Board of Pharmacy approved a settlement agreement to resolve a pending matter against Longs Drug Stores California Inc.

  • The Board of Nursing ordered Tammy M. DeGroft to pay a $500 fine and comply with terms of Missouri State Board of Nursing Order.

  • The Board of Physical Therapy said Michael T. Malaczewski must pay a $2,000 fine and comply with terms of California Physical Therapy Board's stipulated judgment.

  • The Collection Agency Program took action against three firms.

    It ordered Van Ru International Inc. to pay a $250 fine and imposed a $500 fine on Collectcorp Corp. The program found NCO Financial Systems Inc. liable for a $6,500 fine.

  • At the Contractors License Board, a $3,000 fine was ordered for Reliable Service and Gardening Corporation, dba Reliable Landscaping and Richard A. Long.

  • The Motor Vehicle Repair Industry Board is requiring Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. pay a $3,000 fine. It said Cutter Ford Inc., dba Cutter Ford Isuzu, is liable for a fine of $1,000.

  • The Pest Control Board said Roy M. Shimotsukasa and Richard C. MacGuyer will voluntarily surrender their licenses.

  • At the Board of Professional Engineers, Architects, Surveyors and Landscape Architects, Paul R. Weber, dba Meta Engineering, was required to pay a $2,000 fine.
