Our final practice since the start of the 2008 season is over. And a good one it was! Fridays are always considered a "polish" day in terms of practice. We had a very sharp practice collectively on offense, defense, and special teams. We are all confident about our gameplan and our approach come Super Bowl Sunday. Everyone was making plays offensively and defensively. And of course, it wouldn't be a good practice without Larry Fitzgerald leaping over a defender to make another incredible catch, like he did again today.
After practice the team had its traditional Friday meal catered at the facility by Lolo's restaurant. So traditional that the Cardinals' organization flew up the Arizona cooks from Lolo's to personally make our Friday post-practice meal. Lolo's makes southern food, which include things like fried chicken, catfish, collard greens, mac and cheese, etc. Being from Hawai'i I naturally stick to eating the fish with tartar sauce and rice!
Players used the rest of the day to spend with family and friends who are in town. I used some of our free time to catch up on some much-needed sleep before taking the 'ohana to dinner at Ruth's Chris. I have some tickets to the Snoop Dogg concert later tonight that I may go to. I can't make up my mind because there are so many concerts and Super Bowl parties going on tonight that I would love to make an appearance at. It seems like there are more and more the closer it gets to Sunday.
It is extremely fun and exciting here in Tampa, leading up to this Super Bowl. It's like I'm living in a fantasy.
Aloha!
