The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory for the east-facing shores of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui and the Big Island.

Weather conditions far east of the state have generated an east swell that will produce surf at or near the advisory level along east-facing shores for the next few days, the Weather Service said.

Surf of 6 to 8 feet is expected through tomorrow.

The advisory will remain in effect through 6 p.m. Friday.

Elsewhere on Oahu today, look for surf of to 5 feet along west-facing shores; 1 to 2 feet along south-facing shores and 5 to 7 feet along north-facing shores.

Outlook through Tuesday, Feb. 3: The short-period east swell will likely continue to produce surf near the high surf advisory threshold of 8 feet along east-facing shores through Friday.

Small northwest swells will continue through this weekend.

The next large northwest swell is expected to arrive Monday, with surf heights approaching the high surf advisory thresholds along north- and west-facing shores Monday night and Tuesday.
