Rejoice, Parrotheads, because Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band are returning to Hawai'i for two shows: Feb. 24 on Maui and Feb. 28 at the Waikiki Shell.

The concerts are part of Buffett's "The Year of Still Here," tour. Buffett will also be on O'ahu that week to open the latest in his chain of Margaritaville restaurants.

Tickets for the Waikiki Shell show go on sale Saturday. Prices are $126, $76 and $38.50 and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets, 800-745-3000 and www.ticketmaster.com. There is a six-ticket limit per customer.

SONG WILL AID GAZA CHILDREN

JERUSALEM — The musician formerly known as Cat Stevens released a song yesterday to help the children of Gaza.

The United Nations said the London-born Yusuf Islam recorded a rendition of the George Harrison song "The Day the World Gets Round," along with German bassist and former Beatles collaborator Klaus Voorman.

All proceeds from the song will be donated to the U.N. agency in charge of Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, and to the nonprofit group Save the Children to be directed to aiding Gaza residents.

Islam said on his Web site that he hoped the song would "help remind people of the immense legacy of love, peace and happiness we can share when we get round to looking at mankind's futile wars and prejudices, and start to change our foolish ways."

'THRILLER' MAY SEE BROADWAY STAGE

NEW YORK — "Thriller" a Broadway musical?

Producer James L. Nederlander says he has acquired the rights for a stage version of Michael Jackson's music-video spoof of horror films. The show will include songs from two of the pop king's best-selling albums, "Thriller" and "Off the Wall."

"The Nederlanders and Michael Jackson represent live theater and musical excellence, so let the music begin," a spokesman for Jackson said yesterday in a statement.

There's no word on who will write the book for the show or what songs will be included, or who will direct and choreograph.

FILM PRODUCER SCHNEER DIES

LOS ANGELES — Charles Schneer, a producer of noted fantasy and myth films and the only movie to star Ronald and Nancy Reagan, has died. He was 88.

Schneer died Wednesday at a hospice in Boca Raton, Fla., after battling an illness for several years, daughter Stacey Schneer Lee said yesterday. She did not release details of the illness.

Schneer produced 25 films, including 1957's "Hellcats of the Navy," starring the future president as a World War II submarine commander, and his wife, who was billed as Nancy Davis.

He made many of his films with special-effects guru Ray Harryhausen, including 1955's "It Came From Beneath the Sea," about a giant octopus that destroys the Golden Gate Bridge.
