TONIGHT'S MIGHT-SEE

Miss America pageant, 8-10 p.m., TLC. Once a ratings powerhouse, this pageant has now slid down to a mid-level cable channel. It's still basically the same competition, with a few tweaks. There are 52 contestants now — all the states, plus the Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia. Mario Lopez hosts — well, he hosts most things — and the event is in Las Vegas, not Atlantic City.

OF NOTE

Figure skating,10 a.m. and 8 p.m., NBC. Here are the U.S. championships, from Cleveland. There will be pairs and ice-dancing in the afternoon, women tonight. The men are at 11 a.m. Sunday.

"Lost: Destiny Calls" (7 p.m.) and "Lost" (8 p.m.), ABC. If you missed the season opener Wednesday, here's a second chance. The first hour is an overview of previous seasons; then comes the two-hour opener, with the dizzying combination of time-travel on the island and dismay on the mainland. This is a superb show, if you settle back and don't worry about the details. Next Wednesday's episode will tangle things further, but it's fun to go along for the rides.

"Crusoe," 7 p.m., NBC. When Robinson Crusoe rescues shipwreck survivors, one of them is Blackthorn (Sam Neill). This strikes him as a suspicious coincidence.

"Prayers for Bobby," 7 p.m., Lifetime. Sigourney Weaver stars in the true story of someone who became an activist after her gay son committed suicide.

"CSI:NY," 8 p.m., CBS. In a rerun, a handsome guidance counselor has been killed. Also, the "taxi cab killer" continue to spread fear.

"Saturday Night Live," 10:29 p.m., NBC. This rerun has John Malkovich as host, with T.I. as music guest.

"Gone Country," midnight, CMT. The third edition of this quirky reality show includes some skilled musicians, being taught by John Rich (of Big & Rich) to sing country. Taylor Dayne was a pop star and Justin Guarini was almost the first American Idol; Sheila E is a fine percussionist and George Clinton was a funk pioneer. Also included — actor Richard Grieco, former Miss USA Tara Conner and Mickey Dolenz of the Monkees.
