High surf advisory in effect for all islands

The National Weather Service posted a high surf advisory about 3:30 a.m. today for west-facing shores on the Big Island, and the north- and west-facing shores of Ni'ihau, Kaua'i, O'ahu, Moloka'i and Maui.
Surf of 16 to 22 feet is expected today along the north-facing shores of Ni'ihau, Kaua'i, O'ahu, Moloka'i and Maui. West-facing shores of those islands will likely see surf of 6 to 12 feet, according to the advisory.
Surf along the west-facing shores of the Big island is expected to reach 5 to 8 feet today.
The advisory will remain in effect through 6 p.m. Thursday.
Elsewhere on O'ahu today, the surf is expected to be 1 to 3 feet along east-facing shores and 2 feet or less along south-facing shores..
Outlook through Monday, Jan. 26: Surf will drop back below the advisory threshold by Thursday afternoon. Another northwest swell arriving late Friday may again boost surf heights near advisory levels.
