A high surf warning is in effect for the Hawaiian Islands until noon Sunday

The National Weather Service says surf along north facing shores on Ni'ihau, Kaua'i, O'ahu, Moloka'i and Maui will be 20 to 25 feet through Sunday morning.

Surf along west facing shores of Ni'ihau, Kaua'i, O'ahu, Moloka'i and Maui will be 15 to 20 feet through Sunday morning.

Surf along west facing shores of the Big Island will be 8 to 12 feet through Sunday morning.

The large waves will produce dangerous rip currents, the weather service said.

Beachgoers are urged to stay well away from the shoreline.
