It's Grammy time in the Islands, which means it's our chance to rally 'round the nominees, even though we're pretty sure we can narrow the winner down to one of two albums. (Hey, we're down with slack key.)

Catch all the nominees in a pre-Grammy show concert tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. on the lawn at the Hawai'i State Art Museum. Admission to the concert is free.

Nominees will perform three or four songs from their Grammy-nominated albums. Scheduled to perform are Amy Hanaiali'i (nominated for her " 'Aumakua" album); Ledward Ka'apana and Mike Ka'awa (nominated for their "Forces of Nature" album); Sonny Lim, Keoki Kahumoku, Owana Salazar and Dennis Kamakahi (nominated, among others, for their "The Spirit of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar" album); and David Kahiapo, LT Smooth, Donald Kaulia, Stephen Inglis and Chris Lau (nominated, among others, for their "Hawaiian Slack Key Kings Masters Series Vol. II" album).

Daniel Ho and Tia Carrere, nominated for their album, "'Ikena," will not be performing.

The Grammy Awards are scheduled to air at 7 p.m. Feb. 8 on CBS (Oceanic Cable channel 7)
