CFB: Minnesota offensive coordinator Mike Dunbar resigns

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota offensive coordinator Mike Dunbar has resigned after two seasons.
The departure was announced this morning by the school. Dunbar was hired by coach Tim Brewster to install a version of the trendy spread offense after productive stays at Northwestern and California. He was given a three-year contract with an annual base salary of $265,000, but the Gophers didn't move the ball with any consistency.
Two days after a 55-0 loss to Iowa closed the regular season, Brewster hired Alabama director of player personnel Tim Davis as his running game coordinator and offensive line coach with the goal of adding more power on the ground to balance the passing attack.
Brewster said there was no timetable for his national search to fill the vacancy on his staff.
