After a 12-year hiatus, Pat Silva will return to coaching football.
The 1975 McKinley High graduate will succeed Lester Parrilla at Roosevelt.
Silva coached Castle during the 1995 and 1996 seasons, compiling a 12-6-1 record.
He said four of his six children are into coaching here and on the Mainland.
"I started to get that feeling again," Silva said of his return.
He also was quarterbacks coach at Linfield in 1997, but returned home. He is a business agent with the Hawaii Teamsters union and is in his 18th season of officiating high school basketball.
