Kahuku boys defeat Kaimuki; teams play again for OIA hoops title Saturday

Fourth-ranked Kahuku rallied to beat No. 3 Kaimuki, 65-54, in an O'ahu Interscholastic Association Red Division Tournament game at McKinley tonight.
A crowd of about 800 fans saw the Red Raiders (16-1) avenge a loss to the Bulldogs (12-4) earlier in the double-elimination tournament and force a winner-take-all game between the two teams Saturday at Radford.
The game will follow the 5 p.m. White Division title game between Kailua and Castle.
Kona Schwenke led a balanced Kahuku effort with 10 points — eight in the second half. Jray Galeai had nine points and Irwin Ah-Hoy added eight for the Red Raiders.
Kaimuki was led by Gabriel Stietzel's 16 points. David Taulung added 10.
